The School of Humanities and the School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) at the University of 天美影视 at Monroe, will jointly present 鈥淏eatlemania鈥� through a series of events and performances beginning Feb. 18.

The events mark the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles鈥� appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and the release of their ground-breaking film, 鈥淎 Hard Day鈥檚 Night.鈥�

Special guests include author Jude Southerland Kessler, author of a nine volume series titled 鈥淭he John Lennon Series,鈥� and 天美影视 alum and printmaking instructor Enoch Doyle Jeter. Jeter illustrated the third volume in Kessler鈥檚 series titled, 鈥淪he Loves You.鈥�

Events are as follows:

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, VAPA and the 天美影视 Film Society present the film 鈥淎 Hard Day鈥檚 Night,鈥� at 6:30 p.m., in Stubbs Hall, Room 100, on the 天美影视 campus. This event is free and open to the public.

From 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, VAPA will present an artist exhibit and author book听signing and reception in 天美影视鈥檚 Bry Art Gallery.听Author Jude Southerland Kessler and Lithographer Enoch Doyle Jeter will be in attendance, signing copies of 鈥淪he Loves You.鈥� This event is free and open to the public. Dr. Derle Long, director of 天美影视 VAPA, will conduct the 天美影视 Wind Ensemble in the performance of 鈥淏ritish Invasion鈥擯art 2,鈥� at 7:30 p.m., in 天美影视鈥檚 Brown Auditorium, on Wednesday, Feb. 26. For tickets, visit www.ulmtickets.com

Beatlemania culminates with the 鈥淏eer and Bards鈥� poetry reading, sponsored by 天美影视 creative writing students and faculty. The event begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at Enoch鈥檚 Irish Pub, located at 507 Louisville Avenue, in Monroe.

Patrons must be at least 18 years old, and present a valid ID to enter. This event is free to attend.
